PeepNote: now with favorites, pausing, larger plan limits, and background importing

On Christmas Eve, PeepNote quietly received a major upgrade, it’s largest upgrade since the initial release. With this upgrade we added several new features that we hope will make it easier to use PeepNote and better help you to organize your peeps and take notes on them.

Favorites and Filtering
You can now mark a peep as a favorite by clicking on the star to the left of the peep’s avatar. Once you have marked your favorites, you can easily display only your favorites using the new filter at the top of your peeps listing page.

Click on star to toggle them as a favorite

Use filters to show only favorites, only non-favorites or both

Larger Plan Limits

The default limit for the free account was increased from 250 to 2500. Remember too, that once you import all your peeps, you can delete some to make room for more if you need it, and you can add peeps that you don’t follow.

Background Import Process

Previously, when you first signed up, you watched the progress of the import process from Twitter before you could begin. The same was true of the updating process (reimporting).  As of this release, all imports are done in the background. This means you don’t have to wait for the import to complete, and, if Twitter is down you don’t have to wait on Twitter, and the import will continue once Twitter is responding again.

The progress for the import can be seen on the right hand side of your peeps listing page.

Next to the import icon, it will show the status, and how many peeps have been imported

Pause Following a Peep

You have probably experienced the situation where someone you follow may go to a conference or an event from which they are going to tweet a lot, most of which you just aren’t interested in. From Twitter’s perspective, your only option is to unfollow them. But then you’ll have to remember who you unfollowed and remember to refollow them. Now, with PeepNote, you can pause someone. PeepNote will unfollow them from Twitter, but mark them as “paused” in PeepNote. There is a new filter to see which peeps are paused, and easily “unpause” them later to continue following them again.

That’s all the new updates right now, but we have more right around the corner. Thanks for your support and we would love to hear your feedback.
